NEW PUBLIC HEALTH DIRECTION

 

 

Queensland Health is continuing to respond to the declared public health emergency in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19). The below Public Health Directions are for all of Queensland.

NEW PUBLIC HEALTH DIRECTION

In the past 24 hours, the following Public Health Direction was issued.

Restrictions for Impacted Areas (No. 15) (SEQ eased restrictions Stage 3) Direction

Effective from: 4.00pm AEST 27 August 2021

The purpose of this Direction is to assist in containing, or to respond to, the spread of COVID-19 within the community.

The Direction has been updated so that:

  • From 4pm Friday 27 August 2021 most restrictions will ease in South East Queensland (Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Logan, Redland, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim). The following restrictions will remain in place until 4pm AEST Friday 10 September 2021:
    • face masks will continue to be required in South East Queensland
    • students who have been in an impacted area must be fully vaccinated to enter a vulnerable facility as part of a placement connected to their enrolled course of study.

This Direction replaces restrictions for Impacted Areas (No. 14) (SEQ eased restrictions Stage 2) Direction made on 20 August 2021.

Important information about domestic and family violence services

Support services for people impacted by domestic and family violence continue to be available. If you are unwell or feel unsafe, you can leave your home to seek support.

Symptoms of COVID-19

If you have any of the following symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested immediately:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of smell and/or taste
  • Diarrhoea
  • Vomiting or nausea

Other symptoms people may experience include muscle or joint pain, and loss of appetite.
