Queensland Health is continuing to respond to the declared public health emergency in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19). The below Public Health Directions are for all of Queensland.


In the past 24 hours, the following Public Health Direction was issued.

Restrictions on Businesses, Activities and Undertakings Direction (No. 17)

Effective from 13 April 2021

The purpose of this Direction is to outline restrictions for businesses under the COVID Safe Framework.

The Direction has been updated to clarify that:

  • Wedding ceremonies and funerals can have whichever is greater:
    • 200 people; or
    • one person per 2 square metres; or
    • 100 per cent capacity with ticketed and allocated seating.

This Direction replaces the former Restrictions on Businesses, Activities and Undertaking Direction (No. 16) made on 13 March 2021.

Symptoms of COVID-19

Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19, even if they are mild, must get tested.

Symptoms include:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of smell and/or taste
  • Diarrhoea
  • Vomiting or nausea

Other symptoms people may experience include muscle or joint pain, and loss of appetite.
