Work Skills Traineeships


Work Skills Traineeships offer disadvantaged Queenslanders employment for up to six months on public works, community and environmental projects.

 Trainees will earn a Certificate I in Conservation and Land Management (10 places),

Certificate I in Hospitality (6 places) or a Certificate I in Business (2 places) and gain practical experience in a supportive work environment. Trainees will be directly involved in the establishment of a coastal recreational area on Macleay Island.

 Trainees must be at least 15 years of age to apply.  Also open to mature age applicants

Information sessions as follows:

Macleay Island–Thursday April 4th—11:30 until 1:00

Russell Island Recreation Hall — Monday April 8th-10:00 until 11:30

Macleay Island Progress Hall – Wednesday April 10th- 11:30 until 1:00

Expected project commencement date April 29th

Expected completion date Sept 13th
