Further to the report furnished by the Wynnum Police and our local boys in blue, here is the statement that I requested from the Golf Club.
Many thanks go to the Club Secretary, Peter Bowman for forwarding this report..
Report for Bay island News regarding Break and Enter at Bay islands Golf Club.
In response to a phone call from our Security Company at about 8:50 pm on 14th November, 2017
we attended the Club and noted that the lower panel of the entry door had been smashed. At that stage there was no sign of anyone on the premises so we entered the Club through the rear locked door and conducted a room by room search. At that stage l called the Police and the Security company and reviewed the C.C.T.V. footage, identifying a male person at the entrance of the Clubhouse armed with a garden spade, attempting to smash the glass door panelling. Upon gaining entry, the person was observed trying to get into the locked storeroom but, being unsuccessful at that, entered the main Bar area where he proceeded to fill his backpack with a few cans of mixer drink and then left through the hole in the glass door. Unable to get any attendance by the Police, I decided to spend the rest of the night there in case he returned. The hole in the door was secured and repaired the next day. Upgraded security now exists which will make for easier identification of the offender if such an event happens again. lf anybody thinks they know who this offender may be, could you please contact the Police or let the Secretary of the Club.
Peter Bowman. (Secretary)
