Macleay Island Police have recently solved offences of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing involving insecure vehicles parked at Macleay Island Jetty car park.
On November 25, two juveniles aged 11 and 12-years-old were dealt with in relation to two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and four counts of enter premises and commit. Both boys have been dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act.
On November 28, an 18-year-old man has been arrested siphoning fuel from a motor vehicle at Macleay Island Jetty car park.
The man has been charged with stealing and wilful damage and remanded to appear at the Cleveland Magistrates Court on December 20.
Macleay Island police are urging the Southern Bay Island community to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from the vehicles particularly at jetty car parks.
