Incident on Russell Island ‘Non suspicious Death’ – OFFICIAL.

To calm the fears of many Russell Island residents, the incident in which a deceased man was discovered has been determined to be a non-suspicious death.

The incident occurred shortly before Midday on Friday 3rd November.

In conversation with Detective Inspector Owen Elljoy of the Cleveland CIB I was informed that rumours of murder are unfounded. Currently the matter is being referred to as a “non suspicious” death.

Further information is expected very soon from the Police Media and will be released as soon as I have it to hand, although typically this may take another 24 to 48 hours, depending on workload.

As I previously mentioned, information from Police is currently only verbal, although from Cleveland CIB’ Det. Isp. O. Elljoy. Inspector Elljoy was kind enough to return my call with the preferred description of the incident, that being “non suspicious” death. He also informed me that the family have been informed, I was told.

I trust that everyone will join with me in wishing the family any support that we can and our condolences in this matter.
